Why "Now or Never"?

Here are the top four reasons why anyone and everyone who supports the idea of being able to effectively protect Florida waters from harm -- through a constitutional amendment for an enforceable right (which experts say is "the only way") -- MUST DO SO IN THE COMING WEEKS AND MONTHS, or it's all lost.

01

Polluted Water

Tallahassee works hard against clean water

Just look at and follow VoteWater.org, Florida Springs Council, and similar watchdogs on this issue.  As the years go by, water quality only gets worse, more critical wetlands are destroyed, and our supply of fresh drinking water comes under greater threat.  What fresh hell awaits us this year, or the next?  We need to enact the RTCW amendment ASAP.

02

Tallahassee works hard against citizen power

Just look at the news and you'll see that the already-difficult citizen ballot initiative process will likely get even harder -- and arguably impossible for any initiative that starts at the grassroots level.  This (2025) may very well be the FINAL opportunity for citizens to amend their constitution with a RTCW.

03

Plastic Polluted Ocean

The FL Legislature hasn't met a local ban against harmful pollution they didn't want to preempt.  These ban-bans seem like an annual tradition, further degrading local governments' ability to protect their own people.  The RTCW can help protect home rule.

04

The Feds will likely not be very helpful for awhile

The EPA's rollback of protection includes a likely increase of hazardous metals in groundwater and other harms to Florida waters -- all to save a some profit margin for the government-subsidized fossil fuel industry -- and we haven't started talking about wetlands destruction or other issues.  The RTCW has the ability to stop this.
